Deciding to go to therapy can be an overwhelming experience, but I hope to support and encourage clients on their counseling journey toward self-exploration and growth. As a therapist, I act as a guide for clients to help manage the ups and downs of life by providing healthy ways to cope with these experiences. From a strengths-based, person-centered perspective, I encourage clients to show up to therapy exactly as they are. Empathetically, I strive to build therapeutic rapport and create a trusting, safe environment for clients to share and express themselves authentically without fear of judgment.

I am a Texas Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling (Mental Health Counseling) and a Doctorate degree in Christian Counseling. Additionally, I hold a second doctorate degree along with several academic degrees in science and education from universities in three different continents! I have expertise in helping clients deal with: anxiety, depression, grief, parenting difficulties, marital problems, family conflicts, relationship challenges, PTSD, and etc.

I have a Master of Arts in Counseling and have been counseling adults, children, teens, and families since 2008. Working with clients struggling with anxiety and grief and loss is a special interest of mine, but I have experience treating a wide variety of issues including depression, adjustment, self-esteem issues, crisis, domestic violence, abuse, and trauma. I am Certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I am also an EMDR Consultant-in-Training (EMDRIA).

I am Licensed Professional Counselor that provides services for children, adolescents, and adults. I offer individual, couples/marital, play therapy, and group counseling. I am a husband, a father, and a grandfather. My passion is working in the area of marriage counseling, depression, and dissociative disorders. I utilize the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model for most cases. I am also Level II Trained in EMDR and a full member of EMDRIA. I am also fluent in speaking Spanish, and can provide all the above services in Spanish.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas. The University of Texas at Arlington is where I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work. Being in the helping profession is what I wanted to do since I was a child. My professional experience began in 2016, as a therapist/case manager/discharge planner at a mental health hospital. Working with people in crisis was difficult, but it gave me an opportunity to learn how to handle crisis situations such as people who were suicidal/homicidal, severe depression and anxiety, struggling with psychosis, substance abuse and detoxing, and victims/perpetrators of abuse.

With the proper support and guidance, we believe people have an inherent ability to persevere through struggles with which they are confronted. Our desire is to cultivate a healthier style of living to ensure the client's future mental well-being. For the last 30 years I've been privileged to work with courageous clients as they face traumatic life events, stand up to addictions, grieve betrayals and losses, and find freedom to live a more enjoyable confident life. The counseling process takes a lot of work and determination but I have seen long lasting results as clients have faced uncomfortable feelings and beliefs and literally rewired their brains! I can't imagine a more rewarding job.

Through strictly confidential interviews, either individual, joint, family or group, clients are helped to understand the cause of a problem and methods of dealing with that problem. I work with couples and adults on issues of anger management, depression, anxiety and adjustment issues.
