I am a trained EMDR therapist focusing on trauma work.
First, so happy you are here. If you are considering, beginning, or continuing therapy it can feel overwhelming. I want to honor the steps you are taking for yourself. Whatever experiences have led you to this point I am here to walk beside you! I am here to hold space and process feelings of trauma, pregnancy/postpartum, anxiety and depression. You may be tired, frustrated, or worn out from pushing through life's trials, or feeling alone. Life can feel isolating and scary at times. You do not have to do this healing alone! The change and growth you are seeking are possible, and I would love to work with you along the way! Talk soon

My EMDR training has been particularly helpful for those suffering from debilitating anxiety/ depression, complicated PTSD, phobias, & traumatic experiences such as tragic car accidents, & being victims of crime.
Life can be filled with disappointment, stress, pain, and loss that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, alone, and vulnerable. During these times of struggle it can be difficult to find hope that things can change, improve, or ever be okay again. I am dedicated to helping those who find themselves in positions that often seem impossible to overcome. I believe an abundant, peaceful, and joy filled life is available for those who seek to change unhealthy patterns in their lives, improve their relationships, and strive to be the best versions of themselves.

In addition to a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Levels 1 & 2 of the Gottman Method of couples therapy; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
You found me! There was something that led you to search, maybe depression or anxiety, unresolved trauma, marriage concerns, family of origin issues, attachment worries, or something nagging at you that you can’t quite explain. If you’re dealing with any of these issues, I’m your go-to for support. It’s no accident you stumbled upon my page. Personally, I’ve dealt with all of those concerns and then some; it’s why I am doing what I do. A therapist changed my life; and I want you to be able to say the same.

I work with betrayal trauma, infidelity, deconstructing gaslighting, dating after divorce, life transitions, re-partnering, trauma and EMDR, premarital, and couple's counseling.
Every situation is unique and requires a personalized approach. I believe there are no free passes to skip out on the struggle that comes with being human. Sometimes stress, betrayal, or overwhelm can knock us off balance and it's hard to find solid ground. I also believe joy can be found in building self-trust and confidence, creating safe and satisfying relationships, and finding where you thrive in living a more whole, authentic life. I believe my clients have the pieces they need to figure out their problems - I'll help you sort through and put together the roadmap for moving forward.

I specialize in trauma recovery, and I am EMDR Certified through EMDRIA.
Indeed, in this world there is trouble, darkness, violence, and loss. Looking for light and meaning can seem hopeless. When you feel that you have lost your way; when you feel that you have lost your true self altogether, trying to fight for your peace alone, I am here to help you. I am here to help you seek the truth and be transformed by the renewal of your mind. It is my desire to help clients identify the messages they believe, often subconsciously, beneath the rhythms of daily life. These messages are often memory-informed and can interrupt our relationships, thought process, health, functioning, and self-perception.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
