Hi There, My name is Twyla Terry-McCarrell. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Dallas, Texas, and serving clients throughout Texas and Oklahoma via telehealth. In the context of a therapeutic relationship, you and I will come to understand and prioritize your concerns; set therapeutic goals; discuss treatment options; create a treatment plan to meet your specific needs; work through the treatment plan (which will often include homework to be done between sessions); and you and I will check your progress and adjust along the way.
My goal is to help you reach your goals. You and I will work together to identify your therapeutic goals. This starts with having a level of trust between us that will allow you to feel comfortable with sharing enough about yourself and your challenges. We will then work to identify goals that are measurable and attainable in the time we have together.
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about how you’ve been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand why you’ve been feeling that way. The first couple of sessions are about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there.
