As a therapist I utilize clinical interventions and techniques that are individualized to unique issues of the client. I have extensive training and experience in evidenced based treatments such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). In addition, I am experienced in the use of brief therapy techniques such as solution focused therapy and narrative therapy. In my experience I find that an integration of clinical modalities is often most effective and appreciated by clients.
Overall I approach my work with clients from a strength-based perspective. I believe that clients possess the strengths and resources within their lives to be successful in overcoming the challenges and problems that they face.
I have a special interest as well in working with issues related to trauma, abuse, and issues related to sexual orientation and identity development. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
