I work with individuals, families, and/or systems who find themselves 'stuck'. I work from an inclusive and eclectic framework which allows me to work from the outside or join, as needed, to move past the 'stuck' points. I recently took steps towards physical gender affirming transition. To learn is to grow; to grow is to be alive!

My specialty is Second Order Change. This can be done in a multitude of fashions from talk therapy alone to task assigned interventions. The role is to interrupt one's narrative feedback loop which keeps them closed and inflexible.

As a queer professional, my focus is on building networks of resources externally 'and' internally. The first step: to honor one's own vulnerability with pride. Foundations in my practice: 1. if we never fail in our endeavors, we are risking our own growth; 2. discomfort is where we find our strengths and, in discomfort, we live and thrive.

Developmental psychologists tell us there is a natural progression to the lifecycle. They studied upper to middle class families in the 50s who were heterosexual and lived binary gendered lives; co-parents, pensions and comforts. Today, we live the diversity and experiences 'outside' of this mold. In 5 topics, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy teaches: (1) people are doing the best they can with what they know in the moment and, (2) there is no singular way to thrive. Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Middle Path and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Let's help our future heroes push this boundary with grace and finesse.

We are taught from 'pre-memory' though 'adulthood' what is 'right/wrong', 'good/bad'. The secret? We get to choose for ourselves. Our caregivers were either scared to allow us freedom to be who we were or simply unaware themselves that there was a choice. Life is messy; 'and' it is magical. People bring us joy and offer passion in our daily experiences; 'and' people deplete our internal resources leaving us depressed and in pain. 'Both' of these are true. One day per week, for one and one-half hours, we will confront the 'taboo' of the human condition.
