There are generally two types of therapy. In the first type, the therapist tries to help distract you from your irrational feelings, desires, or thoughts. In the second type, the therapist recognizes that you didn't always have these issues and that they arose at specific times in your past. The aim is to trace your present problems back to their past roots and pull out the weed. Intuitive people often have a sense for how they haven't been the same since a bad break up, an accident, a social humiliation, the death of a loved one, or since they made a bad decision.
I am the second type of therapist and I use verbal, body-based, and depth psychology approaches to help you access the past that is affecting your present and limiting your future.
