I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and also have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, PTSD, emotion regulation issues, and traumatic brain injuries.
At some point in life, many of us struggle with a loss of joy and purpose in response to challenges such as chronic pain, illness, trauma, life transitions, and other major stressors. I can help you stop fighting yourself and create a more meaningful life. I see therapy as a dialogue, with us exploring together what works and is important for you. My clients often find that our work helps them better understand themselves and their patterns, and develop new, more effective ways of coping with challenges.

Life can be extremely difficult. As a therapist, I believe in the growth and healing that takes place when individuals explore their pasts, helping to unlearn negative beliefs and gain tools to alleviate suffering. I believe in the power of bearing witness to an individual’s story and assisting in reauthoring narratives that promote hope and healing.

I have over 20 years of experience providing mental health therapy to individual's, couples, and families. I believe that you should not be in therapy for years, but should be quickly making the changes in your life to get you out of therapy. The goal of therapy is to help you to determine what those changes are and then to help you take the necessary steps to make those changes.

I work collaboratively with individuals. Together we develop a treatment plan based on what you see as your problems and then work with evidence-based therapies to address those difficulties. My job is to help you learn to cope with difficulties so you no longer need therapy for the problems that brought you to therapy, leaving therapy with confidence.

Whether you are just starting to explore ways to improve your mental wellbeing or have been struggling for many years, you don't have to navigate it alone. As an experienced therapist, I have supported college students navigating life transitions, chronic trauma survivors who feel disconnected from the people around them, and high-performing professionals struggling to balance the demands of work and home. We all want relief from our current symptoms and to have the ability to set and accomplish future goals. Through private telehealth sessions, I help empower men, women, and non-binary adults to do just that.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Therapists

When should someone seek treatment for a traumatic brain injury?

People should seek a diagnosis and treatment after a head injury, especially if they were unconscious, and an early diagnosis can lead to a better recovery. Signs of a concussion include headaches, nausea or vomiting, exhaustion, dizziness, vision problems, sensitivity to light and sound, problems with attention and memory, brain fog, unusual irritability or sadness, and unusual sleep patterns.

What’s the most common treatment for a traumatic brain injury?

Treatment for a traumatic brain injury will be different depending on the severity of the problem. For mild injuries, treatment may involve rest and over-the-counter pain or headache medication. For moderate or severe injuries, treatment may involve stabilization, medication, and rehabilitative therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive therapy, and counseling.

How long does it take to recover from traumatic brain injury?

The recovery time for a traumatic brain injury depends on the individual and the severity and nature of the injury; the length of time spent unconscious is often an indicator of severity. Recovery time for mild injuries may be a week or two while recovery time for more severe injuries may be six months to two years. Research suggests that the vast majority of recovery occurs in the first two years after an injury; recovery after that time frame is less certain.

What if a traumatic brain injury is left untreated?

If a traumatic brain injury is left untreated, it can lead to long-term physical and mental health problems. Physical problems may include dizziness, headaches, vision, healing, or speech loss, and an elevated risk of dementia. Psychological problems may include impairments of memory, judgment, and decision-making, depression, aggression, poor impulse control, and personality changes.
