I work from a trauma-informed lens that integrates Attachment Theory, IFS, and psychodynamic principles.
Change does not need to take a decade to occur. My goal is to assist people in activating their inner healers through the therapeutic relationship. I enjoy working with people who are ready to work. Together we will grow the parts of you that require care. My style is active, empathic, playful, direct, genuine, and adaptive to meet your needs. I work relationally and I want my clients to know that another human being is in the room. As your therapist, you will be supported free of judgment, and challenged. I believe the authenticity we both bring to our relationship is the catalyst to get you where you want to be.

All that acronym stuff can help you heal from past trauma, current confusion/conflicts within yourself, get intense/destructive behaviors/emotions under control.
Now that you have PTSD from drowning in a sea of therapist marketing profiles, I’m here to help! Hit me up if you’re a high conflict couple and you’re fighting too much, or an individual and you’re fighting with (parts of?) yourself (or others?) in your head too much. I’m foundationally "humanistic-existentialist", meaning I join you on your journey with curiosity/authenticity/empathy, and help you become more confidently you through a relational process. But I'm trained in lots of acronyms: Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Therapy is an opportunity to move our lives toward the truest expression of our core selves. To live more fully and deeply, to have closer, more loving relationships, and to feel resilient in the face of challenge. My approach is individually tailored, drawing from a background in psychodynamic and attachment orientations, trauma-informed and somatic therapies, and mindfulness practices. Over more than 35 years in practice, I have worked particularly closely with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

I have background expertise in the area of trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and body-awareness strategies that regulate the nervous system and process emotion effectively.
People may find themselves in therapy when their usual ways of coping are no longer working and they feel out of touch with how to move forward. My goal is to help my clients discover new experiences of themselves and the world around them, so that they are better equipped to tackle life stressors and setbacks when they arise. My work is predominantly with adults ages 18-45 who are going through life transitions, identity transformation, and are grappling with big "adult-ing" questions like whether or not to have kids, who to marry, where to live, and how important is work in the grander scheme of self-fulfillment.

I often incorporate EMDR in my work, to process unresolved trauma.
The relationship to ourself is the foundation of all our relationships. Let's begin with you. Do you act in ways that don't get you the result you want? ? Do you wish you just knew how to be a good partner? I can help you to love better. Together we inquire into what holds you back from fully opening your heart. Maybe there is possible unresolved trauma holding you back? Let's create a relationship template that supports what you both truly want. It's best to come as a couple. If that is not possible, come by yourself.

Therapy is guided self-exploration. Often, we repeat patterns because the emotional wounds suffered as children are being replayed in our adult life. We have a subconscious fear of experiencing feelings of abandonment and this drives codependent patterns of relating. Repeated neglect of yourself to get validation from an external being is the definition of codependency. You can break this cycle of trauma bonding and devote yourself to YOU.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
