As a transpersonal therapist, I work with those who desire to integrate their personal sense of Spirit into their healing journey.
Our deepest Self is good, creative and generative; we are beautiful and resilient beings, an integration of body, mind, spirit, and ancestry. Yet sometimes life’s challenges sabotage our joy or interrupt our purpose, leaving us feeling anxious, grieved, or manifesting destructive thought and behavioral patterns. These challenges are the daily demands of navigating our chaotic world, but sometimes include other traumas such as violence, abuse, or family and inter-generational wounds.

Transpersonal can be broken down to mean "beyond the self" – "trans" is beyond, "personal" is the self.
Don’t recognize yourself in the mirror? Feeling out of integrity with who you really are? Struggling to come into your identity with confidence? Isolated and hopeless, or lost in your relationships? I deeply understand how painful these challenges are, and how awful it is to be misunderstood. As a queer, sober woman I've worked through many of these challenges myself. This is why I specialize in working with young adults, adolescents and couples. My goal as a transpersonal counselor is to guide you toward self-realization and freedom from the weight of your past, expanding beyond the traditional western framework of therapy.

With a background in depth and transpersonal psychology, I utilize an integrative approach, drawing upon multiple psychological modalities including psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, mindfulness strategies, Buddhist psychology, and transtheoretical therapy. Utilizing these approaches is an important part of helping my clients grow towards self-understanding, self-reliance and emotional soothing. In addition, clients develop the ability to be more at ease and compassionate with themselves while being less reactive to their negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

I work relationally with a trauma-informed lens, incorporating somatic techniques, Gestalt & Parts work, Transpersonal psychology, mindfulness practices, art therapy modalities and a social-justice & anti-racist orientation.
We often find ourselves and bodies, on the path towards health after overwhelming experiences (birth, chronic illness), trauma, grief or loss. Re-igniting our inner-fire and natural emotional balance can understandably be a challenge. Trauma-informed somatic psychotherapy can help! I take my role as a therapist, one who supports the client on their journey, as a facilitator of a sacred collaboration. I conduct therapy with an intention to process and move trauma (anxiety, depression and grief accompanying it) in order to restore balance between the mind, body, and spirit and reignite the internal fire.

I was trained at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA.
Most of what I do could be called Buddhist psychotherapy which uses inquiry and self awareness for the reduction of suffering and to enhance personal growth. This work is done in the present moment and is little dependent on our past. The work usually goes quickly and very directly... but sometimes we need to go slow. A typical successful series might be 10-12 meetings. Spiritual matters are usually an important area of concern...What's really important? Is our behavior congruent with those values? So, please say more about that...

I am experienced with multiple tools within the fields of mindfulness, somatic awareness, attachment theory, trauma-informed approaches, transpersonal psychology, neurobiology, and the spiritual as well as expressive art's therapies.
Therapy is a place for reflection, nourishment of the soul, and compassionate listening; so that communication between one’s head and heart can learn to harmonize, creating peace of mind and clear action. I believe the goal of the therapeutic relationship is for the client to internalize tools and develop greater self-understanding and confidence in their abilities. If you are looking for clarity, purpose and a deeper intentionality in your life and relationships you have found a trusted guide on your journey of self-remembrance.

My approach blends mind-body awareness, mindfulness, transpersonal and existential psychology, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
The future of psychotherapy is with psychedelics. I have dedicated my life to bringing these tools above ground. I come to this meaningful work with integrity, heartfelt curiosity, and humility after witnessing how transformative psychedelics can be for individuals. I see healing and human connection as an essential aspect of what’s needed for our planet right now and nothing gives me more joy than to see people discovering their vitality and passion for life again. I currently work with ketamine and I also offer support to individuals dabbling with psychedelics and microdosing, providing risk reduction and integration.

Increasingly I am bringing more shamanic and transpersonal principles into my work.
We all want to feel whole and achieve meaningful goals in our lives. To do so requires honesty and dedication, especially around the insecurities and defense mechanisms that have become ingrained within our personality. I can help you zoom out to gain more familiarity with your true Self trying to break through the surface of your persona. On one hand, it can be very anxiety provoking to feel that there is more to life than this. But, at the same time, it is an invitation to know, forgive and love yourself unconditionally. An invitation to feel into unknown selves and shadows, to accept You exactly the way you really are.

Transpersonal Therapists

How does transpersonal therapy work?

Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?

Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?

Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?

There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
