Psychoanalytic therapy is process that addresses our personal history and our cultural context, elucidating the profound and innermost conflicts and desires within us. This approach is as much about encountering suffering as it is about fostering freedom. Built upon a deep and detailed dialogue and connection between therapist and patient, psychoanalytic therapy has the transformative potential to uncover truths, expand intimacy, reduce the repetitions that mark our lives, develop creativity, reflect on our current world and our place in it, find belonging and to foster enjoyment in life.
I am a doctoral graduate of Alliant International University, SF and NYU's Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis. I served as Adjunct Supervisor at Yeshiva University; Executive Co-Director of NY Institute for Psychotherapy Training in Childhood; Clinical Director of the Karen Horney Clinic's September 11th Trauma Program; HealthRight Int'l Psychologist.
For over 20 years I have provided psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to adolescents and adults from ethnically and racially diverse backgrounds. I work with a wide range of struggles, such as anxiety, depression, inhibitions, issues surrounding gender and sexuality, trauma, relationship issues, infertility, immigration and grief.
