The decision to begin therapy is a courageous one often made when feeling stuck, vulnerable, or in emotional distress. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive space, where your thoughts and feelings can be expressed openly and freely, and a deepening awareness can lead to developing a meaningful and lasting understanding of your unique way of being in the world. In my experience change occurs in the context of relationship. Within the therapeutic relationship, new ways of being can be experienced, leading to a more creative, open way of living.
I am very committed to helping my clients understand themselves and achieve their goals. I work from a relational perspective. My style is interactive and collaborative. I am trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma informed treatment, family therapy and creative arts therapy. My approach draws from all of these disciplines.
I have 30 years experience working with people on a broad range of issues, including relationships, anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, aging, sexuality, trauma and abuse. I have worked extensively with adolescents, adults, parents, and families. I have experience with, and a commitment to, working with the LGBT community.
