I am a highly goal focused clinician committed to helping my patients overcome difficult life situations and lead satisfying lives. I use a variety of techniques grounded in health psychology, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), interpersonal and psychodynamic theories to help my patients. Psychological/mental health services I offer include assessment, consultation, counseling, psychotherapy, and neuropsychological evaluation for anxiety, depression/mood disorder, stress, poor job/academic performance, and problems stemming from relationship, immigration, chronic illness, life transition and career-life balance. I am also a sleep disorders specialist for all ages. I was a faculty member at Stanford University.
Sleep affects all aspects of functioning and is essential for health and well-being. Sleep is often the first to go when a person is afflicted with a health problem or facing a difficult issue in life. Restoring sleep is key to recovery and for optimal functioning.
Excellence, evidence-based practice, collaborative with patient, family and other care providers, and tailoring treatment to patient's unique situation are key philosophies of how I work with my patients.
