We can think of the therapeutic process as a sort of metamorphosis. Like the caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, we all enter the world with everything we need within us to become our very best selves. However, in order to make that transformation possible, we each require a safe and supportive space to grow. Unfortunately, many of us never had the opportunity to experience that space. This could be due to growing up with unavailable or abusive attachment figures, taking on adult roles at an early age, experiencing isolation and rejection from our peers, etc. This is where therapy can come in - acting as a sort of cocoon.
My hope for our time together is to provide that “cocoon” for you - wherein we can safely explore both your inner and outer worlds, all the while supporting you in growing and transforming into your most authentic self. I am passionate about working with individuals who are open to exploring how their past experiences shape how they show up today.
When we take the initial leap towards seeking therapy we may be feeling a range of complicated, conflicting emotions. From hopelessness to hope, self-doubt to self-assurance - these are all completely normal and understandable emotions to experience.
