I believe that human beings have an inner motivating force that moves them toward more health and fulfillment. Life is difficult. We all have our particular, usually life long issues that get in the way of our personal growth. The going is often ridiculously slow and repetitive; this is where therapy can be so helpful. I think and feel it is an honor to be let into someone’s life and be a catalyst for beneficial change. I believe in being happy NOW! So I will not hesitate to be straightforward and directive if I think it will be helpful.
I have received extensive training in psychodynamic, gestalt, body/breath work and cognitive/behavioral therapy. I have had many years of training and work in the treatment of addictions and eating disorders as I have been a case manager, group facilitator and supervisor in in-patient and out- patient programs.
Doing couples therapy is something I love and have extensive training in this area of expertise. I find that people want to be loving and accepting of their partners, but tend out of fear, to be judgmental and controlling in their relationships. Once that dynamic is identified, change comes quickly.
