I work with individuals who are seeking support and counseling for issues related to problematic alcohol and substance use, addictions, and other behaviors. Many of my clients come for counseling after receiving inpatient or intensive outpatient services, or who identify as being in recovery and have been experiencing challenges such as stress, cravings, or lapses.
In my practice I seek to reduce the power-imbalance that can often occur during counseling as I believe that counseling is "a meeting between two experts" in that nobody knows the client better than they do. This is the heart of the person-centered counseling style.
