I enjoy working with folks who've tried therapy before, and didn't get what they needed. I love trying out more creative approaches to therapy, and I make sure we're collaborating to find that path you've been searching for. Some of my most rewarding clients are those struggling with self-worth, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Since most folks have struggled with a least a few of these issues, I find myself well equipped to work with just about anyone. Whether you're already motivated and aware of what changes you want to make, or just getting started on your mental health journey, I'll be happy to lend a hand how I can.
One of my specialties is in EMDR therapy, a treatment that is designed for trauma, no matter how innocuous it may seem. I also incorporate a lot of self-compassion in my work, as it helps create that solid base for motivation and encouragement. As an LGBTQ+ specialist, I work heavily with gender dysphoria and am one of few people that can treat it with EMDR.
I come from a Mexican household raised in Fort Worth, TX, so I'm familiar with what it's like to grow up as a queer person of color in this state. It is far from easy and as an adult I still struggle with the state of the world and how to carry on. My hope that is that no matter who you are, I can help you find a space to feel safer and start healing.
