I work with teens and adults, and my specialties include trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I am passionate about providing a safe and welcoming space for people to receive support and heal. I care deeply about meeting clients where they are and tailoring sessions to their specific needs. In my work with clients, I strive to create a space in which we can become curious about patterns that are no longer working, and how they might have developed in the first place. I help people develop more effective ways of coping, and I support them in changing the ways they relate to themselves and others.

As a licensed psychologist, I specialize in a variety of presenting concerns such as anxiety, eating disorders, work stress/burnout, financial anxiety, and career discernment.
Seeking support can be hard, especially when you are a high-achiever and you know how to power through life’s challenges and stressors. It’s tempting to continue pushing, but you know that it’s not sustainable. Maybe you’re noticing that your stress and anxiety levels are increasing, your mood isn’t consistent, your energy fluctuates, your sleep isn’t as good as it once was, and you’re not experiencing a sense of vitality and zest about your life. You achieved what you were supposed to, and yet you don’t feel content or happy. If you want to become a healthy striver, to live into your values, purpose, and flourish; let's connect!

Therapy is hard. I want to create a space that is safe where you feel seen and heard to talk about the hard stuff. I use framework that supports individuals in all stages of life facing issues with relationship distress, grief and loss, depression or moodiness, trauma, anxiety, anger issues, self-defeating behaviors, or other life stressors.

My focus is working with women dealing with issues such as self-worth, anxiety, depression, life transitions, codependency, boundaries, grief, and more.
None of us are immune to hardships and trials in this life, but we don't have to walk through them alone. It's helpful to find a safe space and someone to walk alongside for support and guidance as we navigate the way through the present and the past. In my own journey I've been so blessed by others who have been that for me, and I am grateful for every opportunity I'm allowed to comfort others in the ways I've been comforted. How do we learn and grow through the pain, discover more of who God has made us to be, and trust Him as He works it all together for good?

I have experience working with depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, trauma, self-esteem, and boundary-setting.
As a long-time client myself, I believe therapy is a vital part of challenging the parts of our brains that operate from places of hurt. I understand the importance of having the opportunity to share experiences with those who can hold space for us. I strive to create a comfortable, welcoming environment for all clients.

We all seek safety, health and happiness in our lives, sometimes supported by, and other times challenged by, our life experiences, relationships and larger environment. Life often provides many resources for safety, health and happiness. When our connection with these resources is somehow block or reduced, we can use a supportive, caring relationship to find our way through worries, depression, dependencies, grief, low self-esteem, relationship disturbances, and spiritual struggles.

I am skilled at helping adults, young adults, and parents struggling with difficulty managing relationships, loss, painful events, depression, irritability, overwhhelm, and anxiety.
I believe a happier world starts with calm, well-adjusted people. So I help parents and adults who are struggling to remain calm and act effectively, due to their own painful childhoods, go from stressed and overwhelmed to feeling calm and in-control; spending more confident, happy times with their children through relatable, supportive, one-on-one, trauma-focused therapy sessions. People who benefit from my services tend to be millennials who have made as much progress as they can on their own and who are now motivated to embark on this journey of recovery. If this sounds like you, message me today!

I currently hold my LPC-MHSP license and I specialize in several areas including depression, OCD/ anxiety, stress, and couples counseling. I enjoy working with individuals who are open to the therapy process and are willing to work toward goals. Please consider, this process is NOT a one-off session - it is a course of treatment whereby you need to be committed to change and healing towards a happy more grounded and integrated future. Therapy is something you engage in, not something you receive passively and while like most things in life that are incredibly difficult to do, they tend to be the most fulfilling.

It can be overwhelming to sort through all the old thoughts, emotions, and relationship patterns on our own. You deserve a supportive place to find your truth & the space to heal.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
