Although I am not presently taking new clients, I wish you success on your search for a therapist. I have loved being a therapist for 16+ years. I specialize in anxiety (panic attacks, stress and daily worry), self-esteem and relationship issues (getting into one, deciding to get out of one or trying to help your current romantic or family relationships). It is such joy to make an impact in someone's life. I think that is something my clients would say about me - I want to help them make changes that will aid them in having the life they have always wanted. I also am a life coach.

Along the way I have learned that a deeper understanding of self evolves from a deeper understanding of the “stuff” that causes us to think, believe, and behave in the way that we do. Most of the time, the “stuff” is handed down to us or imprinted on us in our childhood or from our experiences. If you are wanting to better understand yourself to break free from the patterns and cycles that may be consuming you, it would be my honor to join you on your journey of self-discovery. I am passionate about supporting those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, stress, and life transitions.

At times we all experience difficulty adjusting to life changes, feeling trapped in negative relationships (self, family, peers, partner), challenged with low self confidence, lack of boundaries, low mood, and overwhelming anxiety. Or perhaps reenacting past traumas or learned patterns of dysfunction. If you are stuck and not moving forward, then I encourage you to pursue this next step. It is time for self care. With me you will experience a warm, welcoming, and safe environment. It is important that you feel comfortable and empowered throughout this growing process.

Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you wanted it to. The gap between your expectations and your reality can be profoundly disappointing. At the core of it is loss — the loss of a dream, the loss of time, loss of faith, the loss of the version of yourself you had hoped to be. I endeavor to help men and women process their disappointment, losses, and painful experiences and help them restore a sense of hope for their future.

My practice centers around helping people who are dealing with intense life challenges like anxiety, depression, self esteem issues or relational conflict etc. The typical clients I see are professional men or women, athletes or performers, and teenage boys. People coming to therapy want change in their lives and are struggling. I believe people will change or heal if they have someone in their corner who cares, understands, and compassionately redirects them toward their own internal resources each week. My main goal is to help you find your own inner resource of calm and confidence.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
