Many of us struggle with defenses and behaviors we have developed in order to escape the pain of our lives, whether it be in the form of substances, food, sex/relationships, work, perfectionism, dissociation, or something else, and in our understandable attempts to avoid this pain we become disconnected from our authentic self and body in the process. As a result, we can often wind up creating even more suffering for ourselves and begin to not only numb the pain, but the joys as well.

I enjoy working with teens and adults from various backgrounds integrating somatic, cognitive, attachment focused, and other therapies to promote personal growth and reconnection with the authentic self. My professional areas of interest include: trauma, eating disorders/disordered eating, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse, family of origin issues, relational trauma/attachment wounds, and navigating identity/life transition issues. When working with clients, I integrate a range of interventions and techniques based on the client's individual needs and presenting problems.

I received my master’s degree with academic distinction in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in 2023. Before pursuing my mental health passion, I was a professional violinist, and I have a deep understanding of the challenges that come with the pursuit of an intensive career, as well as an appreciation for the amount of pressure and anxiety job performance can create. Working through tendencies like overthinking or perfectionism can both enhance your performance and overall quality of life.

I will see both adolescent or adult clients on a sliding scale, and I am in the process of getting paneled with Aetna, Cigna, and BCBS.
