I use therapeutic techniques like CBT and ERP in order to connect previous experiences and patterns to current ones, and then take appropriate action to reframe thoughts and approach fears head on.
I know it can feel so isolating to experience anxiety, depression, or just mental health concerns you cannot explain. Although many people experience these things, healing is best fostered in relationships. Together, we can help that "loud speaker" put the microphone away.

I work with individuals and couples using CBT, interpersonal psychodynamic therapy, and EMDR among other techniques. Interests include trauma, anxiety, relationships issues, family of origin issues, and how coping strategies to manage past situations may be tripping us up currently. I am skillful at helping clients find new solutions when they hit impasses. I strive to provide a collaborative, healing relationship where clients can unlearn, relearn, or learn anew as appropriate to be able to experience their full range of emotions and live without too much of their energy being tied up in the past. Humor is often useful in our journey.

I help clients who are struggling with difficult emotions, unsure of how to cope in a healthy way, turning to substances, addictions or other maladaptive ways of coping. I'm here to help you uncover your authentic self, embrace this person and take control back over your life.

I use an integrative approach combining a humanistic/person-centered approach combined with elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, and Mindfulness.
If you’re struggling with depression anxiety, depression, grief, chronic pain, chronic illness/disability taking the first step in therapy is intimidating but I will work hard to make this first step as comfortable as possible. I have a passion for working with individuals with Chronic Illness/Chronic Pain/Disability, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I believe that true healing happens when the entire person is cared for (mind and body) which informs my integrative approach to therapy.

I incorporate techniques from narrative, collaborative, somatic, trauma-informed, and cognitive behavioral-based interventions.
I love working with teens, young adults, and women navigating life transitions, trauma, relationship issues, identity, and deconstruction. I hope to create space for people to be seen, heard, and loved so meaningful change can happen. I strive to empower clients to believe they are capable of growing and healing the areas of their lives they feel stuck in. I integrate many treatment modalities for each client because everyone is unique and their needs are different, but overall, I want therapy to be a collaborative process. My goal is for people to leave my office feeling less alone and have a greater sense of autonomy.

I work with those who suffer from anxiety, trauma recovery, relational issues, grief and loss, and in exploring self-identity. I also enjoy work with individual clients who seek help in their relationship. My goal as a therapist is to create and manage hope for change with you as a client. To teach you tools and skills that help you exercise agency in your every day life to move away from where you currently are and towards where you dream to be. I see clients from a space of wild curiosity, authenticity, and compassion, and hope that they too can one day be curious, authentic and compassionate towards self and towards others.

My practice includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Brainspotting and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).
In this high-achieving, fast-paced world, you may find yourself struggling with anxiety, burnout, and perfectionism. You might feel like finding balance in life is an impossible goal. Maybe your friends see you as someone who has it all together, but you feel like you're drowning in expectations and overwhelm. While our brains are so adaptive, sometimes we need to partner with someone who sees our struggle underneath the facade. If this sounds like you, I would love to help!

With over 14 years of research and clinical experience, I am extensively trained in treatment based on scientific research, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure therapy (ERP), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
You may be experiencing "stuckness" in your life, feeling caught in thought loops that have left you overwhelmed, anxious, in pain, hopeless. Yet, something brought you here – somewhere within you is an action tendency to move toward healing, growth, and connection. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, OCD, trauma, or existential struggles over identity, relationships, loss, or life transitions, together through therapy, we can tap into that healing energy already within you, reframe and make space for painful experiences, reconstruct ways of moving through the world, and create space for movement toward what matters most to you.

I practice an evidence-based approach to therapy that includes cognitive-behavioral and emotionally focused interventions.
My private practice is different than most therapy practices. First, my personal practice is small. My role as President of The Briggs Institute, Inc. allows me to limit my caseload size. This assures that my clients receive the attention they deserve. Second, my experience in academia places me at the forefront of the field of marriage and family therapy. This means that my practice is informed by scientific research that most private practice therapists can't easily access.

Ashley’s personal model of counseling, an eclectic combination of attachment theory, CBT, brainspotting, play, artistic expression, and DART therapy, helps clients heal from issues that chronically disrupt relationships and wholehearted living.
A major thread in Ashley’s work has been care for families. Having worked in volunteer and professional capacities with children and families for more than 17 years and as a mother of three young children, Ashley has found herself with a deep care for helping people find their own healing to stop cycles of toxic stress. When children or teens feel out of control or parents feel overwhelmed, working through issues that require learning how to emotionally regulate (i.e. trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, ADD, or OCD) can lead to healing that improves one’s ability to securely connect in relationships.
