I enjoy working with clients on life stage transitions, career issues, anxiety, and depression.
I work with clients on a wide variety of issues, always with the intention of increasing wellbeing and helping clients find meaning in their experience . Setting goals for therapy in collaboration with my clients is an essential part of my approach. In therapy, I try to integrate many aspects of human experience, and draw on my own wide range of life and professional experiences, including work as a teacher, living abroad, and my professional experience as a practicing attorney for more than a decade. I am supervised by Corinne Webster, PhD.

Coming to counseling as a second career, I've lived a lot of life, and I know it can be hard.
Stuck? Frustrated? Yearning? I love helping clients reconnect with themselves and find what feels good. I work with healing trauma, disconnection, anxiety/depression, and existential crisis or life transition. I specialize in body and emotional awareness and reconnection, inviting relationships with all parts of Self, giving air to what's beneath our masks, moving what needs to be moved, and relaxing into wholeness. I welcome adults of all genders, faiths, and dispositions. I bring creativity, laughter, tenderness and honesty to our sessions. "We're all just walking each other home." -Ram Dass

Book with me now by clicking on my website! We spend a lot of time identifying things that are 'wrong' with us, but what about the things that you are really kicking ass at? I want to help clients identify strengths and cultivate them so that when life is feeling really hard, you can easily call up your superpowers. I aim to bring authentic, trusting and supportive energy to everyone I encounter and foster that within others. I believe healing happens when we find balance and step outside of black and white thinking.

I am so pumped that you're here! I know what it feels like to seek out a new therapist, and I don’t take for granted the courage and vulnerability it takes for you to share these parts of yourself. My goal is to create a pathway to help you reveal your authentic self. We do this by examining what’s been conditioned and impressed upon you while also identifying what feels true and authentic to who you are. I approach this work first and foremost with compassion, curiosity, open-mindedness, and authenticity. I believe there is room for pain and humor in therapy. I promise to keep it real with you and to share some laughs, too!

One of the most difficult questions to answer is often the simplest one: What do you want? We often fixate on the needs and desires of others, losing touch with our own. I believe your desires are powerful beyond belief. They make you unique and hold the key that unlock freedom and opportunity. As we discover them, we can heal blocks, often past trauma, that hold us back, in order to create something new. I'd love to partner with you and explore where you've been and want to go. Together, we will co-create a beautiful path forward and write a compelling next chapter where you play the Hero.

For the past two decades, clients have come to me at every stage of their lifes. I refer to this as their "beginnings, middles and ends" of their lifetime. I see teenagers struggling to be understood and truly heard. I help couples after the "honeymoon is over" , I assist parents with major life obstacles, I help people make difficult decisions about their careers and even guide them at the end of their lives. With each stage, I ask the client what they want out of their experience with therapy and give the client the power and voice. I guide them with their goals and help create a safe place to explore their emotions and options.

Sometimes life's challenges can overwhelm us and exceed our capacity to work through them on our own. My practice is focused on providing a safe, non-judgmental environment to help those who need support moving past difficult life events and trauma experiences. I use a culturally sensitive lens and practice from a strengths based perspective to support those who have difficulty accessing their emotional self, are innately neurodivergent and who have experienced stressful or painful situations that involve spirituality or faith.

Hi, I'm Elizabeth! I'm pleased to serve the Nashville community by working with individuals, couples, and family groups of every age and stage who are looking for compassionate care addressing grief, trauma, and sudden life changes. Sometimes major life shifts and painful losses can cause mind/body disconnect, challenges in aligning thoughts and emotions, conflict with loved ones, confusion, volatility, and loneliness. Integrating new realizations or new circumstances with how you've seen the world can be incredibly difficult but you are not alone. There is hope, healing, and a future worth shaping.

We'll balance respecting the seriousness and vulnerability of the topics being discussed with humility, perspective-taking, and humor. While I acknowledge the benefits of emotional processing and frequently include this practice when appropriate, my ideal client is proactive and action-oriented. Simply put, I hope we laugh while accomplishing your goals.

Regardless of where you find yourself, you deserve to feel supported and heard. Life can bring many seasons. Some seasons can be challenging, making us question our worth and purpose. Other seasons feel permanent, leaving us feeling stuck and hopeless. Or maybe we experience a change, forcing us to shift and transition. My desire is to meet you exactly where you are, no matter the season you find yourself in. I hope to walk with you towards a place of growth as you realize your strengths and self-worth.

Career Counseling Therapists

How do I know if I need career counseling?

Determining whether a career counselor is needed involves assessing one's current career and identifying what changes can be made to improve one's overall quality of life. In particular, feelings of loss of motivation, fatigue, anxiety, depression, procrastination, or ongoing levels of high stress can all be indicative of a need for career-related counseling. In addition, individuals changing jobs may want the decision-making support or self-reflection opportunities provided by a career counselor.

Who can benefit from career counseling?

Anyone can benefit from the self-reflection, skill development, and stress management techniques that career counseling can provide. However, individuals who are feeling overwhelmed or burnt out with their current job and individuals considering a major career change may particularly benefit from career counseling to improve their wellbeing. Additionally, individuals who are facing issues in their current job, such as coworker relationship challenges or not meeting performance goals, may benefit from the perspective that a career counselor can provide. College-age or young professionals may also uniquely benefit from career counseling as they make key decisions surrounding education and job training that will impact their career trajectory.

How long does career counseling typically last?

The length of career counseling can vary greatly depending on the needs of the individual and what type of support they are seeking. Career coaching or advising services—which serve clients in a specific, goal-oriented capacity—often last for a shorter duration and are sometimes only a single session or a few sessions in length. In contrast, career counseling as part of a more integrative therapeutic relationship with a counselor may last longer, particularly if the issues faced by the client are longstanding and/or more complex in nature; in such cases, individuals may expect therapy to last multiple months or longer.

How to prepare for career counseling?

Clients can prepare for career counseling sessions by outlining the specific topics they would like to address with the counselor, such as current job challenges or hopes for the future of their career. Compiling one's thoughts on such topics often requires reflection on one's career and future goals, which in itself can be beneficial for session preparation. Clients may also want to put together a list of questions they would like to ask the counselor, particularly if the career counselor they are seeing has particular expertise in a given career area. Conducting research into potential future jobs, training opportunities, or support resources in one's area may also help clients prepare for career counseling by providing them with a background of what resources are available in their area.
