I work with teens, adults, families and couples looking to navigate life's transitions, learn to cope with anxiety and depression, strengthen bonds, learn effective communication skills and heal through trauma to mental wellness. I am looking for clients who want to feel better, who will do the work to get to the other side, of whatever is holding you back from being happy and well. I work with people ready for a real positive change, be that from day to day anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, relationship struggles or negative family dynamics.

I have nearly 30 years of experience helping people like yourself overcome stress and obstacles that prevent us from celebrating our relationships and lives. We are all going through own our journey through life and many times the path ahead feels and appears impossible. Or maybe there is so much damage from a road that blew up on you and now you can't see which way to go. No matter what age, we can all find pieces of our life that we can control and influence positively even in the midst of impossibility. Anxiety, anger, family conflict, behavioral issues, blended families, stress management. trauma, depression, and the list goes on of things that can impair our daily life.

I’m a Neurodivergent (ND) therapist, offering ND affirming and trauma-informed therapy. My clients are Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, and/or a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). They may be well into this identity, processing this new discovery, or questioning if it fits. Common goals of my clients are to deal with overstimulation, recover from burnout, manage executive functioning challenges, find meaningful relationships, improve their communication, understand and cope with their emotions, heal from trauma, and figure out who they are through an ND lens.

Sometimes we come to a time in our life when we can use some guidance. I love working with people to help them along their way. We can explore what works for you and what doesn't. Together we can figure out where you want to go from here and how to get there. I've helped many adults and youth with personal growth as they navigated through life stressors and transitions.

We live in chaotic and confusing world which can make it difficult to find the beauty and peace. It's not easy making sense of the world around us or our internal world. My desire is to create and nurture an environment where my clients learn to trust themselves and their abilities to navigate successfully through life. Within my practice, I am determined to be a source of unconditional, nonjudgmental support that both empowers and respects each and every client.

My ideal client would have a healthy dose of honestness, openness, and willingness. I don't expect for my clients to have specific goals or outcomes in the beginning, but an awareness that they want something to be different. Some of the issues I've worked with extensively over the years have been related to recovery from addiction, helping loved one's of an addict, co-dependency, trauma, and navigating an individual's emotions and how to understand and express them in a healthier way. It's about breaking away from insanity and moving toward serenity.

A large part of my practice centers around working with families and helping parents of children who may be having behavior problems at home or at school and working with the children and adolescents themselves. I incorporate child-centered play therapy with young children as well as Adlerian and behavioral concepts with parents. I am a licensed psychologist with Health Service Provider in Psychology credential, a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, and a retired MTSU professor after teaching in the Professional Counseling Program for 25+ years.
