Hello, I am Dr. C.M. Teague and welcome to my practice here at Teague and Associates (Overcome-URFA). I entered this profession because I believe that everyone can be successful in life with the right support, increased self-awareness and insight that is unique to their life situations. I really enjoy seeing people be successful. I have a PhD in educational psychology, a MA in professional counseling, and a BS in psychology. I am a licensed professional counselor, mental health service provider and national certified counselor. I look forward to helping you develop a new way of thinking and a better way of living.

Our practitioners have been trained in behavior modification therapies, and specialize in many different areas ranging from anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ptsd, eating disorders, divorce, anger management to substance abuse and recovery. Our focus is on helping you set therapeutic goals and achieving those goals through medications or counseling or both.

I worked for years to overcome challenging life issues and situations before studying to become a Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor, so that I would be qualified to help others do the same. I believe strongly that a better life is out there if you can be courageous enough to try new behaviors, challenge old ways of thinking, and sometimes tolerate uncomfortable emotions. Therapy is not always easy, but it is rewarding, and you're not alone.

My work as a therapist is guided by the humanist theory that people can heal and grow if they have assistance that is genuine, empathetic, and accepting. I believe that when we accept ourselves exactly as we are, then we can find the strength to change behaviors that are not serving us. The approaches I use include EMDR, dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), neurobiology, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, attachment theory, and family systems theory.
