I enjoy working with a variety of different people. I appreciate all the complexities of being human. Through a trusting and compassionate relationship there can be healing from many of life’s problems from childhood sexual abuse to recreating life after a divorce to recovering from an affair. Many of my clients both couples and individuals state their relationships and their life is better after therapy. They appreciate the time to pause and reflect. Sometimes they want to make changes or continue what is working.

We want to help you address life, relationship or legal problems which are keeping you from having your best life experiences. We believe that you can and will succeed in making healthy life changes. We want to provide you with skills and tools which lead you to success and personal happiness. We provide individual counseling as well as group therapy and education. We offer monthly DUI school/class. We offer 8, 10 and 12 hour all day Anger Management Classes one time each month. Parenting classes available upon special request.

**Now Accepting New Clients** I see adults and adolescents who typically present with anxiety and/or depression. If I had to name just one specialty, it would be anxiety. Most people suffer some form of it at some point in their lives. When left untreated, it can lead to more severe symptoms and a whole host of diagnoses. I practice primarily Cognitive Behavioral techniques. I will talk to you about your beliefs, expectations, and how you experience the world. I'll teach you to be more accepting of yourself, so you can stop judging and reacting from created stories. I will also help you improve foundational behaviors.

Emotional pain can lead to long term issues for the mind and body alike and I am able to create a comfortable space for you to discuss your concerns with while educating you on practical solutions to implement in your daily life. I have a passion to help all, but especially those struggling with behavioral issues and trauma. I understands the importance of getting ahead of behavioral issues in children and adolescents before they face legal consequences. I understand the importance of counseling following trauma. I could go on and on about the research backing the need for counseling in trauma. Behavioral issues are often rooted with some sort of trauma. I love helping others find their confidence, safety and mental health baseline.

Dr. Marilyn Davis, Psy.D., has a Doctor of Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a MA in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, both degrees from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Davis works with individuals (18 years and older), couples, and families. Dr. Davis's private practice is located in Clarksville, Tennessee and offers virtual Telehealth behavioral health visits for anyone who resides within the borders of the state of Tennessee.

Although I am open and able to seeing all ages, my specialty includes work primarily with children and adolescents who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and transitional periods of life. In working with children and teens, I also include work with parents, guardians, and others in the family system, as needed. My goal as a therapist is to help all clients process and heal from those difficult and challenging parts of life and help you to reframe parts of your story through a new lens.
