So, if you feel you're being held back by anger, frustration, anxiety/fears, depression, chronic pain, or any combination thereof, I hope you'll give me a call.
Are you anxious? Scared? Or, maybe you’re just plain mad? That’s OK! Sometimes life can get overwhelming! When the pressure of life squeezes us, it's easy to respond in fear or anger. But, I want to help you find another path: the path to relaxation, mindfulness, and personal growth!

My specialties include helping with anxiety, grief, anger, depression, phobias, and any day-to-day life crises.
I know that seeking help can be overwhelming and there are many qualified individuals who could help you, but you need a therapist who is a good fit for you. Consider if I am this "good fit". I believe I have the unique ability to connect with my clients, and they with me. This can be done through empathy. Empathy is the experience of understanding another persons thoughts, feelings, and conditions from their point of view. I work hard at doing this with every individual and their unique experiences. Irvin Yalom, a renowned psychologist, suggested, therapy is mostly a process of removing obstacle

Navigating the world today can be extremely challenging and overwhelming. It’s so common to experience frustration, anger, and shame as a result of the day to day challenges that come from just simply being human. Throw in substance abuse, gender or sexual identity challenges, or relationship issues, and it's easy to feel consumed by it all with no idea of where to turn. As a therapist, I am passionate about having a space where any and all can come to seek refuge. I specialize in working with substance abuse issues, sexual dysfunction, sexual trauma, LGBTQ+ matters, polyamorous couples, infidelity, and life transitions.

I work with both adults and adolescents with a wide variety of mental health challenges including acute and complex trauma, grief and loss, anxiety and panic disorders, depression, Anger, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, Addiction, and Schizoaffective Disorder.
Welcome to my practice! You inspire me! It takes a great deal of courage to reach out and ask for help and I admire that! Sometimes our expected life path shifts and it can feel extremely overwhelming to find our footing and get back on track to living the life we deserve. My blended therapeutic approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness can help you do just that. I strongly believe that in order to make meaningful changes in our lives, we have to get to the core beliefs (both about the self and about the world we live in) that are driving our behaviors.

I have had a passion for working with children since I first decided to go into the field of psychology. This was due to the natural relationship that I have always had with children and the desire to see them and their families have better lives. If you have a child who is struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem I can offer practical solutions to help. If you are confused by what is going on with your child and need answers, then I can help. I am a naturally curious person who will never stop working to discover your child's needs and to offer effective and efficient treatment advice.

I work with adults (who live in Texas or Tennessee) who are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, and grief.
Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you put your needs at the bottom of the to-do list? Do you wonder if life should feel somehow better? Happier? Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and uncertain about how they are supposed to manage their relationships, careers, and their lives. Pushing away your needs and not taking time for yourself can lead to long-term issues for your mind and body. I will assist you in your counseling journey by providing a judgment-free, compassionate, safe, and comfortable environment.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
