Though CCPT is my specialty, when working with adolescents and adults I focus on applying Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches, as well as EMDR.
I have been working in the mental health field for several decades in a variety of positions and areas around the United States. While children are my passion, I work with all ages of clients to collaboratively identify what might be interfering with becoming the best version of themselves. With that in mind, I put forth all of my energy to partner with my clients in finding what works best for them in order to provide relief and satisfaction with life in general, as well as an overall sense of happiness.

If you are ready to manage your feelings more effectively, review and update outdated beliefs, experience balance, enjoy more satisfying relationships, and make choices that better align with who your values, I will draw from my training & experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Family Systems and EMDR to help you achieve your goals.
Do you find yourself in internal arguments with your inner critic or feel so pressured by should’s that being stressed has become the norm? Do you miss your former, more alive self or notice that feelings you had hoped were resolved continue to generate painful memories? Are you struggling with unwanted behaviors - irritable outbursts, addictions, or indecisiveness? Or missing intimacy and positive communication with your spouse or partner? Though there is no "typical client", resolving these concerns or decreasing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or PTSD, are frequent reasons reported by my clients when they come to therapy.

I use EMDR and RLT (Relational Life Therapy) to assist people in discovering freedom and joy in life.
Hello and Welcome. Would you like help finding your way to a more peaceful, balanced, and joyful experience in life? I am available to help you. Often the past interferes with the present day by triggering anxiety, fear, panic, sadness, depression, anger, or a sense of numbness. Our sense of well-being falls apart when we experience these feelings on a daily basis. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or that you fall short of your potential in many areas. Relationships can feel tense, dissatisfying, or dysfunctional. I am compassionate and skilled in helping people find relief from the things that keep them from thriving in life.

By integrating my training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), and other techniques, I’m able to facilitate the process of targeting the root cause of my clientele’s symptoms.

My biggest strengths as a counselor are my compassion and open-mindedness. I meet clients where they are at, tailoring the work to your preferences and needs, whether you would benefit most from talk therapy, skill building, trauma processing, or a combination of these. This allows for individualized treatment plans and use of creative, validating techniques.

With a holistic approach to integrating Dialectical Behavior Therapy and EMDR, addressing each area of a person’s life is necessary for a complete lifestyle change.
Looking inward can be scary, which is why it is done as a team of both the client and therapist, working toward your identified goals. Here you learn how to help yourself. Striking consistentcy and balance in life is often difficult when the pattern has been alternating between extremes. This can change. With a background in residential treatment, Jordan has skill working with resistant clientele. She is currently licensed as an LPC-MHSP since August of 2019.

I have training in Gottman Methods (couple counseling), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness approaches, many trauma focused treatments, EMDR, and play therapy but the most important is the relationship between the counselor and the client.
Finding a best fit counselor to walk alongside you while you set and achieve your goals is the most important part. My approach is genuine, compassionate, and client centered. We will work together to learn more about you, set your goals, and reach your potential. I believe everyone needs an unbiased, nonjudgmental partner to confide in or to overcome hurdles and assist to move towards a goal. Through my practice, I currently provide telehealth (video) counseling only so clients best served will be ages 10 thru adulthood; however, I am able to provide parenting support and coaching to parents of younger children.

I specialize in EMDR, a comprehensive, effective and highly researched therapy.
Life can be stressful, and even oftentimes overwhelming. Stressors and trauma can impact our lives in many ways, negatively contributing to our physical and emotional health. I believe the mind has the innate capacity to heal. Therapy can provide the key to unlocking our own power to make positive changes, improving how we respond to life's challenges. The process of change and emotional growth is one that starts with the initial step of reaching out. Therapy can provide a safe, confidential, judgement free environment to explore how to manage stress and live life fully.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
