With specialized training in AS and individuals with ADHD, I utilize several modalities including an attachment-based approach in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT and EFIT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), CBT, Narrative, and Experiential therapies.
I work with neurodivergent teens and adults (Autism and ADHD) as well was a wide range of clients who have experienced trauma, issues in their family dynamic, communication, peer groups, self-esteem, and relationships. I am most passionate about working with individuals as they explore the deep parts of themselves and uncover new insights. Many of my clients work to improve relationships, gain tools and strategies for day to day struggles, and explore, process, and find healing from past traumas and old wounds.

I incorporate attachment-based interventions, research-based psychoeducation and personality tools like the enneagram.
Most of us know we need healing and growth in a variety of ways but embarking on the journey is not easy. I’m here to help those who are ready for the journey that we are not called to do alone. Looking through a relational and an attachment lens I collaborate with my clients to explore family of origin, relational, physical and personality barriers that may hinder growth and healing. I love working with a variety of individuals and couples. I especially have a heart for helping restore sexual intimacy, specifically for those who have experienced the effects of sexual pain and women’s issues related to pregnancy and postpartum.

There is something beautiful about becoming the most authentic version of yourself. My passion lies in helping individuals and couples work to uncover what is keeping them stuck and develop a more fulfilling life. Through therapy, we will develop a relationship where you feel heard, understood, and respected while working to recognize and change the unhelpful thoughts, behaviors, and patterns in your life that are no longer serving you. Our sessions will feel like a conversation, where I will offer a fresh perspective and tangible ways to achieve your therapy goals.

It takes courage to own your story and narrate it for the very first time. I enjoy helping clients make sense of their life stories. Let's discover how those narratives drive your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We can collaboratively work to create new meanings for those old stories using components of cognitive-behavioral, timeline, attachment based, and narrative therapies. I am also trained in Level One Gottman therapy for marriage and couples' issues. I am here to support and empower you as you take those first steps towards change.

I utilize trauma-informed and attachment-based practices such as EMDR, IFS/parts work, somatic therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions.
Has traditional talk therapy fallen short in helping you find the root of the issues you repeatedly face? Are you struggling to understand and change the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and disconnected? You may be struggling to navigate relationships, battle loud negative self-talk, or experience debilitating feelings of shame, guilt and embarrassment. If these experiences sound all too familiar, you're in the right place. I aim to equip my clients with the skills to manage difficult thoughts and emotional experiences, navigate relationship struggles, and heal their trauma from the root.

I integrate attachment-based interventions and somatic exercises from a trauma-informed lens within the models of Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
I hear folks on my therapy couch often ask these questions: "Why can't I get a hold on these anxious feelings?" "Why am I still repeating these same patterns?" "Why does (experience) bring up so much (emotion) for me?" I help adults and adolescents (16+) translate this curiosity into insight to develop emotion regulation skills, a sense of self rooted in integrity instead of shame, and more mindfulness in their relationships. I work mostly with anxiety, LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, emotion regulation difficulty, relationship issues, spirituality, and grief, including “identity grief” (grieving the life we thought we’d live).

Are you struggling to show up in relationships, to work, at school, or with family the way that you want to? Feeling like everyday life is harder than it should be, while getting overwhelmed thinking about how to change it? Maybe you even tell yourself "I should be able to do this, what's wrong with me?" If so, you’re probably familiar with sadness, anxiety, and resentment as everyday emotions that are leaving you feeling tired, burnt out, unmotivated, stuck, or hopeless. Or maybe you're not even sure how you feel but you know something is just off...

Everyone wants to be themselves, to be “seen,” and to be valued for their uniqueness. We’re wired to need safe and affirming relationships and connection with others. When we’re struggling, it’s usually because something has gotten in the way of these things - not because we’re somehow "defective" or "flawed." I value authenticity, and strive to help clients feel and honor emotions that may seem “wrong" or unacceptable.

I offer in person sessions in TN. I offer teletherapy for my clients in the states of TN, AZ, MO and FL. Is depression, anxiety, or anger holding you back from where you want to be in life? Please don't give up, because help is available. Many people feel a need to make changes, but don't know how. None of their options seem to work out. The pressure can lead to other problems, like trouble getting to sleep, difficulty making decisions, poor self-esteem, substance abuse, physical pain, or troubled relationships.

I have always said a willing client is my favorite kind of client. It is likely you do not want to feel unwanted emotions, you don't even have to engage in self-improvement but the question is... are you willing to take a leap of faith towards personal healing?

Consider this - You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep other people warm. Have you been keeping others warm for far too long at the expense of yourself? Is it finally time to put YOU first? Whether you are struggling with things that have happened in your past, seek to have more fulfilling and lasting relationships, or simply just want to feel better than you did yesterday, I would be honored to walk beside you. I like to think of going to therapy as a scheduled time in your week to invest in yourself – it doesn’t mean that something is wrong with you. Rather, coming to therapy means something is RIGHT with you.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
