At whatever stage we find ourselves in life, we are challenged by unexpected events, perceived emotional limitations, as well as trauma or fear. Even so, we have the potential to overcome these challenges and progress as authentic beings, embracing our self and our relationships.

As a Christian and a professional I endeavor to provide professional counseling within a Christian worldview. As a therapist I try to be a good listener as well as someone who helps to clarify and provide input. I have been trained in a variety of counseling approaches but find that having a caring attitude and listening ear is beneficial to my clients.

Life feels burdensome. You struggle to keep up with its changes and demands, and often feel overwhelmed. Your relationships feel distant and distressing, and you’re not sure how to make this work anymore. You've experienced loss, and the pain is challenging to manage. It’s an endless cycle leaving you feeling stuck and alone. You want the chaos to quiet, the joy to return, and the darkness to lift. I believe there’s a way through pain and heartache. Let’s uncover hope and healing together.

Most of my clients are young children and families. Many of the families I see struggle with trauma. Most of the children and parents have struggled with behavioral challenges such as attachment issues, anxiety, self injuries, aggression, impulsivity, sleeping and mood disturbances. Many are suffering with grief such as the death of someone they loved, or divorce or even separation from a caregiver. Often, parents are unsure of how to address these issues with their children. All of my clients seek support and empowerment in order to be healthy and productive as individuals, as parents and as families.

I often help others with trauma, grief, anxiety, & depression to name a few.
Hi there! Glad you stopped here at my profile .A little about me: I help children, families, individuals, & elderly populations. I support people in exploring their history & uncovering patterns they may not even be aware of so that they can begin to have more control of their emotions & live a more fulfilling life. I’ve been a therapist for 4 years & absolutely love what I do! I have seen so many people experience growth and healing via “aha” moments. I enjoy processing difficult stuff in a meaningful way to help others find precious relief from tough feelings.

Grief lives on the inside where no one can see it and experiencing loss leaves us feeling vulnerable and alone.
As a therapist specializing in grief and a grief educator, I have learned grief is a story of the heart, it changes us. Grief can leave us feeling depressed, anxious, lonely, vulnerable, and scared. I provide grief counseling and hold hope to those who have experienced: a death-related loss, divorce, lost childhood due to dysfunction in the family system, and any significant life-changing event that causes pain. Sharing your grief story is the first step on the journey to healing the pain of loss.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
