Using evidenced-based interventions like, CBT, DBT, Brainspotting and EMDR, you will gain insight and practical tools that can create immediate relief and freedom.
NOW accepting new clients! You ask yourself, "will it ever stop?" The racing thoughts, the paralyzing self-doubt and the overwhelm. You’re easily triggered. It feels like you're on an emotional roller coaster. That intrusive voice is telling you that you’re not enough—you’ll never measure up. Perfectionism and procrastination keep you stuck. You find yourself in an unfulfilling job or relationship yet again. You long for connection, but are afraid of rejection. You seek comfort with alcohol, food, social media, work or shopping, but the feelings keep coming back.

It takes a tremendous amount of courage to admit that life isn't working out the way you hoped and that you need help from a stranger. And there are a lot of misrepresentations of what therapy actually is out there (I'm looking at you AppleTV...) Instead of writing confusing language I'd like to keep it simple. Things you can expect in therapy with me include 1. direct feedback 2. consistency 3. playfulness 4. increased comfort with yours and others' big feelings 5. attunement. Things I don't provide include 1. snacks 2. a room in my pool house (I don't even have a pool house) 3. advice 4. false hope 5. worksheets.

I help women live their values without guilt & anxiety. Despite being funny, smart, and hardworking, life is hard. They're constantly making sure everyone else has what they need, and forgetting themselves in the process. They feel unappreciated, exhausted, and frustrated. They worry that they're letting everyone down when they say "No." This isn't the life they imagined for themself.

I use effective therapies like CBT and DBT which will help you change any patterns getting in your way, as you learn effective coping skills.
Do you wish you had the confidence to live your life the way you want? Maybe you haven’t had the support or guidance you’ve needed. Many of my clients have struggled with problems like anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma. As well as difficult life circumstances, that have held them back from their goals. My mission is to help people feel stronger on their own, as well as more connected to those around them. I want you to feel calmer, happier and more empowered. With support, you can explore what’s important to you, and discover what you really want. And once you know that, you can create a more meaningful future.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
