I am a licensed mental health counselor experienced in helping kids, teens and adults find their way through life's changes and challenges. Openness, insight, compassion and steady presence are fundamental to my work as a counselor, as well as a desire to help people find active, body-based ways for feeling better. I assist people with adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, ADHD and other issues both through in-office counseling as well as by utilizing Soul Sport's unique facilities which include a yoga room, a rowing room, and access to walking trails and a river-side park.
I work with people aged 5 and up and besides listening and talking, I use yoga, exercise and play to loosen stuck patterns and promote wellness. In a session, this may mean learning some yoga poses, rowing for a few minutes to get grounded, or playing catch to ease discussion.
I bring a unique, warm, trustworthy presence in a welcoming, comfortable setting. I have experience working with a wide range of people and issues in traditional talk therapy, as well as yoga/exercise/body-based techniques for wellness.
