Time is of the essence, so let's not take it for granted. What did our parents and grandparents say? "Time brings on a change." So let's get to work! I tell all my partners (clients), "You don't work for me. I work for you. You owe me nothing, and I owe you the world." So, let's create your ideal world. I love to bring client interests into the therapy space, so it sets the stage for a more engaging experience. Whether it’s art, music, sports, pop culture, or other hobbies, we can make it a therapeutic experience. My motto is “Be as transparent as you are comfortable, so we can get you to the place where you want to be."
First session, I simply want to review paperwork to make sure that we are good to go. I would like to share stories to see if are in a position to build a healthy and comfortable therapeutic relationship. Please tell me what you are and are not comfortable with discussing upon first intro. I do not want to deter anyone from therapy based on intimidation.
I firmly believe this is why my clients are consistent with their care and their communication with me as I never judge because I do not know their lived experiences but will validate those experiences and see what can they change to make life at least a little less difficult.
