I believe that the tools to improve are inherent in every individual, and my role as a therapist is to help you uncover and develop these skills to make life more manageable and fulfilling. In sessions, my goal is to jointly create a safe environment for my clients to introspect, make connections between past and present, and gain a wider perspective on their difficulties.
As a therapist, my areas of focus are anxiety, depression, insomnia, substance abuse, life-transitions and relationship issues. I believe in an integrative approach, meaning I tailor my therapeutic methodology to your needs, and the concerns that you bring to every session. My approach is grounded in somatic, transpersonal and person-centered modalities.
My background is primarily in biopsychology, where I learned how stress negatively impacts both the body and brain. As the two are inseparable, I incorporate a somatic approach; utilizing breath-work, mindfulness & body awareness. Learning how to take a step back, control your breathing and your thought patterns is a coping strategy we'll explore.
