Most of my patients come to me feeling a significant level of distress. Some may have seen a mental health professional before and have some idea of what to expect. However, for many this may be the first time they have ever met with a mental health professional and they may feel apprehensive about the process. My goal in that initial session is to strike a balance between putting the person at ease while gathering important information about who they are and what their situation is. Most patients return to their second session feeling encouraged and a degree of hope based on that initial encounter.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with more than 35 years of experience in providing mental health treatment and evaluations. I pursued an academic track early in my career, but the private practice of psychology is where I have felt most at home. I enjoy the daily challenges and rewards of helping people with problems they are encountering
My goal is to provide professional, personal, caring, affordable, empowering and evidence-based psychological services to patients, with the additional goal of continually improving the quality of care I provide through monitoring of treatment outcomes.
