I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist focusing on adolescent issues, marital/couple's conflict, family conflict, life transitions, anxiety, depression, cultural issues and the impact of trauma on relationships. My work is client-centered and collaborative and I utilize a systemic approach to facilitate change. My goal is to create a confidential, non judgmental, safe and secure environment where you can express yourself without fear of criticism or reprisal.
I have considerable expertise in dealing with issues that span various cultures (multicultural) and generations (multigenerational). My approach is what therapist may call solution focused, an approach that finds people's strengths and builds on a person's innate capacity for change without harping on the negatives.
I work with diverse populations including families in life transitions, ethnically diverse, academic and developmentally challenged, sexual identity issues, grief and trauma. I facilitate discussions to assist individuals, couples and families realize their personal strengthens and supports to develop better coping strategies . These strategies promote change while strengthening interpersonal relationships.
