The Urban Counselor

New Chicagoland area Black-owned private practice focusing on environmental and complex trauma. The Urban Counselor supports diversity, inclusion, and individualized trauma-focused care. Some of the populations served include marginalized and minority communities, individuals with legal/criminal history (probationers or court supervision), individuals with a history of narcissistic or relationship abuse, LGBTQIA+, and adolescents. This practice subscribes to the use of Relational Therapy, focusing on mutually satisfying interpersonal connections and relationships to improve emotional wellness in combination with other practices including but not limited to CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, Humanistic and more.
