I have 25 years of clinical experience. In the last 18 years I have been focusing on women's issues, particularly issues around motherhood such as: perinatal and postpartum mood disorders, fertility, miscarriage and loss as well as transition and adjustment concerns. I also address issues of depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, serious illness and trauma. I consider myself a christian counselor and believe that a persons religious and/or spiritual beliefs can be an asset in making changes and moving forward.
We all have the ability to be strong and preserve in our lives, even when weighted down by our circumstances. Reconnecting with personal power and hope can help in rediscovering life's joy. It is in releasing our fears and negativity that we find space to invite more positive emotions and experiences.
I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and taken advanced trainings in using EMDR for issues surrounding chronic pain and stress. I have also completed trainings on DBT, meditation, theraputic yoga, and mindfulness.
