My primary clientele are adolescents, adults, and families that are seeking services related to substance use disorders, compulsive internet abuse, sexual offending/issues, ADHD issues, and criminal offenses. I assist clients in their journey toward positive self-growth and psychological development. Stress is a fact of life, but you may have stress conditions that go beyond the usual. Sober and Recovery Coaching services are also offered.

To me, a large part of therapy is about grieving, acceptance, and peace within ourselves and others; I am particularly good at helping people get in touch with their feelings. I tend to work with the heavier side of therapy, that include drug/ alcohol /cannabis addiction, domestic violence, narcissism, borderline, sex/porn addiction, sex offense, sexual shame, couples working through sobriety-recovery dynamics, infidelity, poly relationships, court, and anger management. I tend to work really well with those who enjoy dark humor, who are avoidant by nature, and those who are seeking redemption from guilt/shame.

Dr. McCann collaborates with individuals who are currently struggling with emotional, behavioral, and relational difficulties. I am a compassionate and experienced Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, specializing in addiction, trauma, and co-occurring mental health disorders. I hold an M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Houston, supplemented by an MBA from the University of Houston Downtown. With six years as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, I have developed expertise in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, ACT, and DBT, working with individuals affected by trauma, grief, legal issues, bipolar disorder, ADHD, low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.

I have experience working with juvenile/adult offenders, Child Protection Service cases, acute treatment facilities, groups homes, and rehabilitation care. I offer counseling services for families, children, adolescents, and adults. I can help clients to address challenges such as depression, anger management, life changes, bereavement, and anxiety as well as client specific needs. I am skilled in providing group counseling, career counseling, marriage and family counseling, case management, educational counseling, life coaching, and substance abuse counseling. I am also able to provide supervision to Licensed Professional Counselor Interns, notary services, and consulting services.

What is the DOT return-to-duty process? A positive test is a violation. So also is a refusal to be tested. So are a number of other things that are prohibited by DOT. When an employee has a positive test or refuses to be tested or has one of DOT's other violations, DOT requires the employer to immediately remove that employee from safety-sensitive functions. An employer who allows an employee with a violation to continue performing safety-sensitive functions is subject to fines, up to $10,000 per day. An employee with a violation has two options.
