Sometimes life gets so heavy that it can feel like we are drowning. Whether it is from trauma, grief, the stress of raising a family, or simply a hard stage of life, I am here for my clients through both the brightest and the darkest days. With a license in counseling and experience working with children and adults alike, I try to use both creative and practical means of working with my clients, focusing on making a safe place to work and process in a way that is unique to each individual I speak with.

We all have a story to tell. Maybe your story is one that includes traumatic experiences such as manipulation, sexual abuse, or sexual assault. I currently provide therapy to adolescents 16 and older, and adults of all ages. I am culturally competent and work with clients of diverse backgrounds including race, ethnicity, LGBTQA+ and socioeconomic status. Areas of specialties include: Intimate Partner Violence, PTSD, Sexual Violence, Survivors of Childhood Abuse, Immigration Trauma, Generational Trauma, Acculturation, Grief and Loss, Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions, Family Dynamics and Interpersonal Relationships. I am a strong believer in the importance of using evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions. I have advanced training in EMDR, CPT, and TF-CBT.

Many people see therapy as a one-sided conversation, with little opportunity for interaction or getting to experience each other as real people. I can promise you that I am as real as it gets! I want to help you achieve whatever solutions and life changes you are looking for while enjoying the process as much as possible and experiencing yourself in new ways. Simply put, I don't believe therapy has to always be a painful thing. My approach to working with clients is compassionate and person-centered. I believe each person is the expert on themselves and therefore my role is to be a supportive guide throughout the healing process. My training and experience have afforded me the opportunity to work with a variety of issues, including but not limited to, complex trauma, sexual abuse or sexual assault grief & loss, anxiety, depression, and those who may be experiencing heightened stress related to family, work, or social situations. You may be bringing years of hurt and challenging situations into counseling but I will be here to support you with that pain.

I have over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents and their families who are dealing with a variety of behavioral health, alcohol and drug abuse issues. My experience has shown me that by changing unhealthy patterns, expressing fears and concerns and taking gentle risks, it is possible to live a satisfying life regardless of what or how long your struggle. I use a combination of techniques depending on issues presented and we will work together on both short and long term goals.

I have been in the field for over 25 years. I have worked in varies settings including PHP, IOP, military family service centers, residential settings and crisis centers for domestic violence and sexual assault. I am a trained and certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). This is an evidence based treatment for PTSD symptoms.
