My behavioral health work began in 1988, with adolescents and their families, branching into extremely effective work with addictions and couples counseling. I am trained in EMDR & Brainspotting (BSP), a very fast paced healing process for all types of trauma, PTSD, abuse issues, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, grief issues and cravings. I work most quickly with athletes suffering from mental blocks, injuries and other issues inhibiting performance even though the injury is completely healed. Many of my athletic clients have completed in just a two hour session.

Whether you’re dealing with any combination of the 3, or something else entirely, actualizing your potential is the way forward. I don't believe rehashing past experiences to no end is helpful. While talking about past experiences may be an important part of our work, growth manifests through present integration. Being as honest and direct as possible is the best way to demonstrate how I'm not here to waste your time. If we share this value, my style of therapy may be right for you.

I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and I have over 10+ years of experience working in various clinical settings, including community mental health centers, hospitals, churches, inpatient facilities, addiction facilities, and private practices. **Now Accepting New Clients** I see adults and adolescents who typically present with anxiety and/or depression. If I had to name just one specialty, it would be anxiety. Most people suffer some form of it at some point in their lives. When left untreated, it can lead to more severe symptoms and a whole host of diagnoses. I practice primarily Cognitive Behavioral techniques. I will talk to you about your beliefs, expectations, and how you experience the world. I'll teach you to be more accepting of yourself, so you can stop judging and reacting from created stories. I will also help you improve foundational behaviors.

Kathy is a nationally certified drug and alcohol interventionist. She is a board registered Interventionist, and a Certified drug and alcohol counselor. She has been working in the field of addiction recovery for over 20 years. Her hands-on experience with SUD has given her the clinical comprehension of what to expect and how to assist you and your loved one through the transition into recovery. Kathy recognizes that substance use disorder is a debilitating disease that attacks an individual and families on all Ievels: physically, emotionally & spiritually. Her goal is to restore hope with care, honesty, and professionalism.
