Rebekah Oakley is a psychologist who has been practicing since 2010. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a doctorate degree in school psychology. Rebekah believes in a humanistic approach to your care. She is interested in providing education about mental health while guiding you and walking beside you as together you create a mental health plan that works best for your individual life and experiences. In her spare time, Rebekah enjoys being outside with her family, practicing yoga, reading (often about mental health! ) and traveling.

With over 20 clinicians on staff, from students who offer low fee counseling to our associates and licensed clinicians with more experience and specializations, Roots wants to be here to help. We see kids, teens, college students, adults, couples, and families, and we regularly offer low-fee groups and workshops for folks that are looking to supplement their individual therapy or for folks who just want to grow a little with others from the community.

Hi! I’m glad you are here! My name is Rebecca, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist. I enjoy helping children, teens, couples, and families navigate the stresses of life. The teen years can be a time of uncertainty for both teens and their parents. Family dynamics shift as teens seek more autonomy. My goal is to support parents and teens by using a systemic approach that considers their past experiences as well as providing strategies for better communication leading to a more positive relationship.

I incorporate trauma-informed mindfulness practices such as brainspotting, as well as solution-focused techniques into my work with clients to make sure that the root of each therapeutic issue is addressed and you can track your own progress in therapy over time via goal-setting. I also have formal training in Motivational Interviewing (MI).
