Hello, I’m Dr Tera Jansen, a psychologist and certified sex therapist with 10+ years of experience. Beyond my competencies in general mental health, I have had extensive training and experience working with concerns related to sexual health and gender. This includes individuals and couples experiencing significant distress or concern in relation to their sexual functioning, relationships, behaviors, interests, or identity. I have also helped many folks find satisfaction in their sexual lives post trauma.
I have advanced training in gender and sexual health, including a 2-year, postdoc fellowship in human sexuality. While well-practiced across sexual health concerns, I have sub-specialties in: couples' sexual concerns, sexual pain, kink, LGBTQ+ topics, pornography concerns, unwanted thoughts or behaviors, attractions to minors, and consensual non-monogamy.
I am an active provider in session and direct in my feedback. I see therapy as learning how to have casual conversations about difficult topics. I enjoy being able to create a space where humor and joy can exist in equal measure with struggle. I appreciate working with a diverse group of clients and celebrating all identities.
