I’m Dr. Tera Jansen, an AASECT certified sex therapist and psychologist. I provide individual and couples therapy across a variety of sexual health and gender concerns, as well as general mental health and relational issues. With over a decade of experience, I have developed a deep belief in our capacity for change and growth. At its most basic, my guiding goal in therapy is to aid others in finding, engaging with, and expressing their most authentic selves. Operating from a point of authenticity and self-truth can often create a clearer guide in navigating fears and hurts, making decisions, and building meaningful relationships.
I have advanced training in sexual health and gender, including completing a post doctoral fellowship at the Program in Human Sexuality at the UofM. While experienced with a broad array of sexual health concerns, I have particular expertise in working with issues surrounding couples sexual health, kink, LGBTQIA+ sexual health, polyamory, and sexual pain.
As a therapist, I tend to be informal in my conversation style and direct in my feedback. I enjoy being able to create a space where humor and joy can exist in equal measure with struggle. I see therapy as learning how to have casual conversations about difficult topics. I enjoy working with a diverse group of clients and celebrating all identities.
