Living with untreated trauma or pain can feel as though you are treading water and make it difficult to work, take care of things at home, get along with loved ones, or partake in hobbies. I want to help you take back control of your life so you can reduce suffering and start living again.

"Life be lif-ing" is the statement that comes to mind when I think about the ups and downs, we experience in our lifetime. Many of us can relate to the overwhelming feelings of sadness or the constant feeling of anxiety. With life can come trauma and pain, which can cause anger, bitterness, and an array of different emotions. You may even think to yourself, "I'm not good enough," "Something is wrong with me," or "I can't do hard things?" As a trauma-informed therapist who utilizes a mix of CBT and EMDR, I target these beliefs and feelings and provide various coping tools to help clients grow and be their best selves.

Do you feel the need to share your thoughts but hesitate to confide in friends or family? Are relationship issues, the loss of a loved one, parenting challenges, the transition to an "empty nester" phase, or the aftermath of divorce causing you distress? If you've responded affirmatively to any of these life stressors, consider letting me guide you towards the path of mental fitness.

Have you avoided investment in your own health? Have you sacrificed yourself for many seasons in life to come upon a day where old coping patterns are not getting you through like they once did? Have you tried therapy before but didn't feel heard, seen or understood? Have you gone through something terrifying in your past that has power over you to this day? If any of the above resonates with you, it would be a privilege to meet you where you are and journey beside you.

There are many challenges we face throughout our lives that can impact our ability to function in various ways. Therapy is a process that takes time. It starts with clients understanding their story through the lens of attachment and how early adaptions show up both as powerful solutions and frustrating obstacles. Growth occurs as clients reprocess those adaptations and open new pathways to new healthy ways of living and relating to others.

I offer pastoral counseling, soul care and spiritual direction to women with a focus on life changes and adjustments, such as marriage and relationship struggles, chronic health conditions, motherhood, postpartum, and grief and loss. I also works with clients interested in discerning career and calling growth, as well as navigating spiritual and theological questions. I offer a whole-person perspective, taking into consideration the mind, body, and spirit. I can assist clients with developing self and soul care practices independently, or to support and inform their ongoing counseling experience.

I have a passion to help all, but especially those struggling with behavioral issues and trauma. I understands the importance of getting ahead of behavioral issues in children and adolescents before they face legal consequences. I understand the importance of counseling following trauma. I could go on and on about the research backing the need for counseling in trauma. Behavioral issues are often rooted with some sort of trauma. I love helping others find their confidence, safety and mental health baseline.

You many be feeling overwhelmed, isolated, anxious, depressed, and reliving past traumatic experiences, but hopeful for understanding, confidence, and peace? Through my work in sexual assault centers, domestic violence shelters, in private practice, and at Onsite Workshops I have learned how trauma is stored in the body, how it creates negative beliefs about the self, how it keeps us from living in the present moment and how it keeps us from connecting to those around us. Working with me feels like gentle confrontation and resource building in order to delve into past wounds with a deeply open, knowledgeable, and compassionate ally.

Are you worried about your child? Does your child not seem like themselves? Your child may be irritable, aggressive and defiant. Your child may seem angry or withdrawn. Adolescents often refuse to talk to you, participate in enjoyable activities, experience thoughts of suicide or do things to harm themselves. Your child may have experienced a traumatic event or is having difficulty navigating a life change such as divorce, death of a family member or adoption. You may feel hopeless and not sure how to help your child. If this sounds familiar, I can help. I have experience working with children with these same issues.
