It is my honor to work with clients on paths of exploration, personal growth, and healing. Because of the pain that often brings us to therapy, I believe that safety, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity are of the utmost importance in the therapeutic relationship. My theoretical orientation in counseling is primarily psychodynamic and interpersonal within a humanistic framework. I believe that past experiences inform current understanding, and exploring such issues can be healing. Change can also be related to a new understanding of relational patterns and a new experience of relationship with the therapist and others.

Life is change. During our life span, we experience constant changes and choices. Some of these changes and transitions are more difficult than others. Often, a helping hand is needed as we traverse these situations, whether a new job, a new relationship, or a loss. We can navigate these changes together. Learning and growth have no age requirements or limitations. I have been a licensed public school counselor for 8 years and taught adolescents in the U.S. and abroad, and online since 2000. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern currently under supervision until December 2024.

As your therapist, I will offer you presence, focused attention and a collaborative effort to understand and make meaning of your inner life and conflicts. Together, we will work to bring about the changes necessary to empower you to live authentically, with purpose, and to achieve your full potential. I tend to work well with individuals who see their mental health as a journey or who are motivated to understand and work through the underlying causes of their difficulties in longer-term therapeutic relationships.

Many of them are fighting the battle of anxiety, depression, difficult life changes, parenting, victimization, suicidal thoughts, and PTSD. They desire a place of peace, to heal, change, and grow into the family, couple or individual they want to be.

You look around and ask yourself “Is this really my life right now?” Some days are okay, some are uncomfortable, and others are intolerable. In the tough moments, the things you've tried before don't seem to work. Treading water was fine for a while, but you’re ready to swim. Maybe someone you cared about died. Maybe that inner critic voice is louder or more persistent than it has been before. Maybe your child’s thoughts and feelings are too big for them to handle.
