Navigating the sea of life requires a different set of skills throughout life. What works when you are 16 years old doesn’t work so well when you’re 40 years old. Oftentimes when life is passing by so quickly, adapting to the changes requires better-coping skills, skills you've yet to acquire. Or maybe, your teen has all of a sudden became distant, argumentative, and secretive. You’ve tried to be supportive in their growing independence, yet still needing a home base, but the scales aren’t balancing out. This is when you understand that seeking outside intervention is necessary.

I believe that everyone should live their life without judgement, fear or distress. Developing trust with your therapist is the most important first step in a therapeutic relationship. I have worked in the counseling field for over 15 years with adults, couples, and adolescents. I received my Master of Science Degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2004. I'm licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Professional Counselor (LPC/MHSP) and nationally certified as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). I'm also credentialed as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) for the US Department of Transportation (DOT) and have completed Gottman Level 1 training.

Shannon has almost 20 years experience in trauma & LGBTQ+ mental health for all ages, family dynamics, & religious structures, is a Certified Emergency Responder & Public Safety Clinician for Queer LEOs, EMS, 911 Operators, Fire Fighters & Vets. Eden is especially focused on addressing trauma, queer mental health for teens, adults & families, and is kink positive. Laila specializes in working with women, mothers & postpartum issues.

YOU are the expert of your own experience. I believe that all clients deserve to feel heard and supported, no matter what they are struggling with. While I specialize in trauma treatment, I find that the principles of trauma-informed care apply to most clients. I affirm clients of all religions, races, and sexual identities. Effective therapy is all about offering a safe space for clients to share, and then helping them push themselves to achieve the life they want. My clients are encouraged to consider their own goals and how to achieve them, emphasizing the client's strengths and self-determination.

I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who has practiced therapy since 2008. I prefer to counsel from Christian perspective but will adjust to my client's needs. I have significant experience working with trauma, anxiety, and chronic mental illness. I enjoy working with married couples and helping individuals overcome past trauma especially. I am trained to work with individuals, families, or couples on a variety of issues.
