As a Licensed Associate Counselor for the State of New Jersey and National Certified Counselor, I have worked with diverse individuals and families with varying socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and marginalized communities. I enjoy working with clients to overcome stigmas associated with co-occurring disorders with mental health and substance use disorders. It is my responsibility and privilege to assist clients in developing a higher level of self-awareness and trust in themselves, others, and, just as important, their therapist.
I work from a strength-based model; I believe there is no one theoretical orientation that fits all clients. Person-Centered Theory is just one theoretical orientation that I utilize to help clients understand how they view the world in an attempt to identify any distorted views of themselves.
After understanding how the client perceives their world, I work with them to help them see how it hinders or may assist change. Together we explore the most effective way to accomplish goals, complement cultural considerations, and maximize growth during the therapeutic process.
