Children, youth, and young adults may struggle, at times, as they navigate the challenges of growing up and transitioning to adulthood. Likewise, as adults, we encounter stressors as we navigate relationships and the changes inherent in life. I seek to understand and connect with each client. I believe that healing and growth take place in the context of a safe and connected therapeutic relationship. Individuals with autism often feel misunderstood. My extensive experience within the autistic community affords me a unique ability to connect with this population.
I utilize a client-centered, strengths-based approach to increase self-awareness and self-compassion. I use a variety of modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Play Therapy. I also employ aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
