Life is a journey, and it's a rocky one overall. Some parts of our journeys are smooth and steady. Sometimes we have room for companions. Other times our journeys are muddy, rocky, or narrow. Sometimes our paths are lit, and sometimes we're feeling scared or lost in the dark. We don't have control over which obstacles we will face, but we do learn techniques to overcome these obstacles. That could mean learning new skills for the future or figuring out how to recover from some pain of our pasts. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients build their skills and confidence in overcoming and working through any obstacles.
I use a person-centered approach to help my clients work on their therapeutic goals. I hope that my presence and engagement creates a safe space for emotional healing, growth of self-confidence, and any other needs my clients are seeking. I most often use components of CBT, MI, EMDR, DBT, and IFS to do this work together.
You don't have to travel this journey of life by yourself.
