Hi I am Tanya Thompson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have eleven years experience counseling people with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and trauma. Over the years, I have seen clients make long-lasting and positive life changes. These changes occur when people delve into the causes of their depression and anxiety. Using a cognitive-behavioral approach we will work together to change the negative thought patterns that accompany depression and anxiety.
As a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, I help people relinquish the hold their trauma memories have on them. Additionally I also use an Internal Family Systems approach to assist people in healing from trauma.
After completing an EMDR session one client remarked "wow, amazing, above and beyond what I expected." After processing feelings regarding life's challenges and receiving feedback another client said, I never felt so listened to, cared for, and understood.
