I provide holistic psychotherapy to help clients in Oregon, Washington and Utah explore, understand and address diverse challenges in life, helping clients become empowered stewards of their own well-being. I integrate common psychotherapy approaches, including cognitive, narrative and expressive-creative therapies, with holistic approaches based in the traditions underlying yoga, Buddhism and other Eastern philosophical practices. My goal is to help clients achieve health, balance and harmony, and to embrace life.
I specialize in grief, trauma, depression, anxiety and existential concerns. I am particularly knowledgeable, skilled, understanding and compassionate in working with traumatic bereavement (e.g., loss to accident, suicide, violence, etc.) and ambiguous loss (e.g., missing persons, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's, persons in comas, etc.).
Grief, ambiguous loss, trauma and end-of-life concerns are the heart of my work. Additionally, as a Pulitzer-nominated journalist in my previous career, I enjoy working with writers and first responders. I am also a culturally competent, utterly affirming LGBTQ therapist and welcome all members of the community to my practice.
